How did pottery originate?

According to existing data, Chinese pottery appeared 7000 to 8000 years ago. Its origin can be traced back to an earlier stage. In ancient times, our ancestors went through countless hardships to be liberated from the life of drinking blood and living a life of fishing and hunting without settling down. In the long-term practice of using fire, humans inevitably have the understanding that formed clay can become hard blocks after being burned, which are all prerequisites for the production of pottery.

As for how pottery was invented, it may have been due to baskets coated with clay being burned to form impermeable containers that are fire-resistant and can be used to cook food. Soon after, shaped and fired pottery began to emerge. The new material created by humans - pottery - has been born since then.
