One shot firing refers to the process of applying glaze to the green body, drying it, and then firing it into a product at high temperature in a kiln. Secondary firing refers to the process of drying an unglazed body, followed by a primary firing, followed by glazing, and then firing it again to produce a finished product. Once fired, the process is simple and reduces heat loss. The secondary firing process has more advantages:
(1) Through plain firing, organic matter is oxidized, crystalline water is escaped, and carbonates and sulfates are decomposed before glaze application, which is beneficial for eliminating glaze defects.
(2) Increased the porosity of the body, improved the ability to absorb glaze, made low concentration glaze hanging possible, and improved the smoothness of the glaze surface.
(3) Improving the strength of the billet is beneficial for subsequent processes, facilitates automated operations, and reduces damage.
(4) After the raw material is fired, it is easy to select and remove unqualified products, improving the qualified rate of finished products.
